This rug is literally an innovation. The shoulder darts split all the way up to near the wither, giving the horse complete freedom of movement at the shoulder, which is what causes rug rubs. The main body of the rug is securely fixed to the horse, so stays put without restriction. The front fastening system has 2 strong clips as well as double velcro, which prevents the front folding in and rubbing. There are 3 low-set belly straps (not 2 as picture) which hold the rug securely in place. The rug can be fitted as either a lightweight outer (for summer), with the 400g liner (included) as a heavier weight (for much colder days), and a 200g is also available (to buy seperately) to make it a mediumweight rug, or to be used with the other liner in extreme cold weather. This means you effectively have 3 rug options for all weathers!
We have been trialling one on Benny here at the saddlery and have been really impressed with it. It just seems to sit really nicely and do what a rug should do without causing the usual problems. Even Graham is really pleased with it (and that takes some doing!). Technical features are;

NB. Unlike other Horseware rugs, this rug measures up very generously, so we would recommend buying a size SMALLER than you usually would. E.g. Benny takes a 6'6 normally, but in Horseware we would usually have to go up to 6'9 as they measure up small, however in the Optimo he is in a 6'3! Ask staff for advice if you are unsure.
