The Be Nice head collar works on the principle that when the horse resists, pressure is automatically applied and when the horse begins to co-operate the pressure is released. It is therefore a restraint and an effective training device.
To determine the correct size measure the horse from the bottom of the cheekbone over the poll to the bottom of the opposite cheekbone, then add 3 inches.This measurement, decreasing in 2 inch increments will corrospond to sizes as follows.
44" 112cm Draft- Large
42" 107 cm Draft - Small
40" 102 cm XXL Warmblood / Large Mule
38" 97 cm Xtra Large / Large horse
36" 92 cm Large / Average horse
34" 87 cm Medium / Arabian / cob
32" 82 cm Small / Yearling and Large Pony
30" 76 cm Xtra Small / Weanling and Small pony
If your horse is in-between measurements (e.g.37") then choose the next size up (i.e. 38" - Xtra Large / Large horse). Do not worry if your horse wouldn't normally measure up as the size description (e.g. Extra Large) as the sizes are American and measure up much smaller to our british sizes of pony, cob, and full. Order the halter according to the size you measured, not the description on the tag!
